We founded MakeATX with the belief that having access to the proper equipment and workspace would not only allow us to make beautiful objects with our tools and our hands, but it would also allow us the possibility of making a living doing something we love. In 2011, we opened our doors to a select number of local designers and makers with similar ambitions, and we now run a thriving workspace full of like-minded members, sharing resources, techniques and ideas, providing not only jobs for our handful of employees, but also allowing other business owners to make a living making things. MakeATX serves as an incubator for both business and design innovation.

MakeATX + Bright Beam Goods is staffed by talented artists and architects who enjoy building handmade goods.
The Bright Beam Goods product line that we design and make in house is sold at many museums + retail stores across the US including The Guggenheim, SF MoMa, Color Factory and locally at Paperwork and Atown.

SIgn up for a laser basics class! The first step to becoming a member, and a fun way to learn a lot of helpful information about laser cutting.
Membership
One you’ve completed a laser basics class, you can sign up for laser appointments. As a member, you can reserve time to use the laser cutters yourselves.
Custom Cutting
